CUI question

I'm trying to get the noted partial cuix files into my NJ Civil 3D workspace but can't work out how to do it - any suggestions gratefully received

Grab it from the Partial Customization file and drag it up to your workspace.

1. Right Click on Partial Customization Files and load the desired cui.

2. In the left panel select the workspace you want stuff added to and go to the right panel & hit the Customize Workspace button.

3. Now go back to the right panel and find the partial cui file you loaded. Expand the tree and check off the items you want displayed (tabs, panels, toolbars, menus, etc).

4. Save and exit the CUI editor.

Note that I believe there is still a limit (20 something) to the number of menus you can load. OIf you load menus and don't see them you may have too many.

Thanks John - I had been doing as you described but I was unaware of the menu restriction.

I deleted Survey (as I never use it) and my workspace seems to be fine now.

Spoke to soon - CUI back as it was....:(...?!?!?!?

I'll just switch the workspace when I need to use the partial cuix

Dang.

Did you save the cui edits with the little save icon in the editor or from the dropdown list before existing?

I might also try saving the workspace from the statusbar icon after exoting the editor.

I saved the workspace and could change them without any problem but when I excited civil and restarted it the workspace hadn't honoured the changes.

Your startup reloads an unchanged external profile file or replaces/reloads the CUIx file in use most likely.
