Wondering, why is Z coordinate ignored while creating pipes in edit network mode by snapping to 3d points?

You're snapping to a node. If your points are displaying at elevation 0, which is typical, then you need to use the transparent Point Object ('PO) command to snap to the point at its z elevation.
Sorry, I did not understand using 'PO option.
The nodes (autocad points) have z value other than 0, there are no civil points initially. I would like to snap to autocad nodes (acad points, 3dpolyline vertexes, line endpoints etc) to get the pipe elevation from those points. Is it not possible?
