Create Data shortcut for TIN surface

Hi,

in the company I work for we upgraded to AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 and found some deferences in creating data shortcuts for TIN surfaces from older versions. We can't create data shortcut of TIN surface if drawing name in tab have asterisk. Is it done specialy and permently? Or can we change it?

If you just open a drawing and change viewing distance or place you can't create data shortcut. You need to save drawing first, but it is annoying thing to do if you did not do anything with drawing. And we use Tortoise SVN to sinc drawings (and other work files) between computers and lock them, so only one person can save drawing. So if you did not take the lock and open drawing in read only mode you can't save, but if you have asterisk in drawing name on tab you can't save it.

Yes, it is annoying BUT you can create a macro and put it on a button on your toolbar.

Macro? For what purpose? To save and create data shortcut with one click? It would solve half of problem. Because sometimes we open dwg in read only mode, so we can't save drawing to create data shortcut.
