Corridor surfaces

It would REALLY be nice if we could label the contours of a corridor surface
without having to export/extract the surface from the corridor. Having to
extract surfaces really defeats the purpose of building a corridor model in
the first place, as it is not dynamic. When the smallest change to a
corridor occurs, we have to erase the exported surface, extract the updated
surface and then add the labels again.

It would also be nice if we could use the water drop function on these
surfaces without extracting them.

I have the same problem!. I see in civil3d2005 that corridor surfaces isn't dynamic. In section view this kind of element don't update automaticaly!!..........Anybody know if in civil3d2006 this persits???

Thanks

YES!

I would like to the ability to label spot elevations on the corridor for intersection tie in and clean up. I thought I was able to do this once, but maybe I had already exported the surface.

This labling limitation still exists in 2006. I'm not sure about cross
sections because I haven't tried it, but it's probably the same problem. It
IS possible to calculate volumes based on a corridor surface. That's nice
at least...

BTW: The corridor surface IS dynamic until you have to export it for the
reasons that I mentioned in my previous post.

Corridor surfaces are dynamic (as long as they are not exported) in R2005
also. Also "corridor surface sections" should be dynamic too!

In R2006, you can label link/point/shape codes on corridor (assembly)
sections with in a section view.

Thanks for the input on "applying surface labels" on to corridor (dynamic)
surfaces. More use cases you mention, will help us more in delivering even
better product.

Thanks again

Hi Chakri,

Not just surface labels, but contour labels, too. 🙂
