Copy lines shortcut

Is there a shortcut for copying a line to multiples of the same object or shapes at once at different locations in the drawing?

My rule of thumb: if there is more than one instance of an object it should be a block. That being said it they were blocks you would be done before I could type this. Not being blocks you will have to resort to snapping. Note preceed the copy command with MULTIPLE may help

It sounds like you want the ARRAY command.

Does the array command work with objects that scattered all over model
space? The objects are not on a linear or polar path.

Yes it does. You might also want to try ArrayClassic to get the old school command that isn't connected together.

Can you describle how to use the command? Because I tried to use the array classic and it doesn't do it how I want it to be.  Even the copy command cannot do this. Maybe I'm not doing it right.

Can you show me some screen shots of what you are trying to do or create a video? You can use Jing.com or Autodesk's screencast.

Attach is the screen shot. The middle blue represents the water main and
the boxes are the meters, and the blue short line is the waterline
coming out of the meter to connect to the main. This example doesn't
have many meters, but when I'm working on projects there are many more
in a set of blocks and they are scattered like this. Is it possible to
array/copy blue short line to all the meters as shortcut as opposed to
copy and paste to each one by one. Or do I have turn the meters into
blocks and then add the line, and then explode it?
