Converting a surface from faces to regions

What is the step by step process to convert a surface from faces to regions so I can import my Civil 3D surface into Revit?

Are you just doing a DWG import into Revit, with hopes to render the regions/faces?

What about making a Toposurface in Revit from the Civil 3D surface points or contours?

First you will have to make sure your PROXYGRAPHICS is set to 1 in Civil 3D.  Then you explode the surface twice.  Open up Revit, click the Insert tab, and select Import CAD.  Then go to the View tab and select 3D View>Default 3D View.  Then go to the Massing and Site tab and select Toposurface.  Once you click Toposurface, there is a section that opens up on the ribbon.  Click the Create from Import>Select Import Instance.  Pick the surface and then click OK to select all the layers, OR just check the layer that the surface is on.  Once finished, click the check mark in the ribbon for Finish Surface.  And that is it.  You can change your visual style to look more realistic.
