controlling tesselation of pipe style in crossing/interferance?

I'm showing a pipe interferance in profile view. using a crossing style set to use part dimensions. It basically shows as an octogon rather than a smooth elipse. Is there a way to control this? I thought maybe the pipes were not truly round but 8 sided but when I look at them in object viewer, they appear round but section view at exageration doesn't appear as an ellipse. Any way of adjusting this?

The variable you are going to want to change is FACETDEV, and here is a thread discussing this: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Civil-3D/cross-sections-showing-pipes/m-p/2766572#M137028
