Contours

Has anyone mastered contour display in C3D 2009? And if so, can you direct me to a place where I could learn more.
The main problem I have is the contour lines running through my contour labels. I can turn the label mask function on and it
works great in C3D, but I when I print out my plan sheet the mask no longer works.

Please help!!

The is a plotter function, rather a plotter problem. I would assume
that your plotter contains a lines merge. Switch your plotters to Lines
Overwrite and it will work.

Mastering Civil 3D 2009 is a good book to have. But basically, if you click on the line and go to your properties and under the Labels section, there is an entry that says 'Display Contour Label Line'. I'll bet you that yours is set to true. Change it to false. When you do, you'll see that the line has changed color to blue.Click Esc and the line is gone. If you need to realign your labels, simply click on a contour label and you'll see the blue line.

HTH,

I guess I misread into his post. When he said 'mask', I thought he was doing it the old way with express tools mask. But you are correct sir, that has been a plaguing problem. Fortunately, we don't have that problem.

Thanks Rick, just what I was looking for. Now one more thing. How can I set the "Display Contour Label Line" to false in my dwt so that I never have to see them again? As it is now, I have to do them one at a time. Can't find a way to change that style.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I haven't checked to see if 2010 fixed this problem, but in 2008 & 2009 if
you used the "multiple at interval" option for the labels, all of the
interval labels do not adhere to this setting. You must select one,
right-click, choose Select Similar, and turn off the visibility that way.
(BTW, aec_cadd, this is how you should have been selecting them before,
instead of 1 at a time.)
