Contours Lables

Hi All,

I have label elevations of contour lines and they look O.K. on model space, but when I switch to paper space, all labels are too small to read, How could I set the lables to be the same in both spaces?
I have xrefed the base map into my sheets, is this matter to the labels?

Thanks in advance!
Dennis

Make sure the scale of the paperspace viewport is at the scale you intend to
plot at.

Yes, the viewport is right, and I don't think it has to do with the viewport scale. The labels are suppose to be big or small depending on zoom scale factor, right? but my is the same. When I switch to Pspace, the lables are very small???

I think you found your answer . . . :
"I have xrefed the base map into my sheets, is this matter to the labels?"

I'm not certain that the Surface object is intelligent enough to update the
display of the contour annotations when it is Xref into another drawing.
Can you use paperspace layouts in the base drawing to accomplish the same
task?

Good luck,
Matt

Dennis, I found that ensuring that the drawing scale reflects your primary plan viewport scale whilst working on the model helps
make sure all your labels fit between features. (In plainer speech, if your main plan view showing the contours is 1:200, set your
drawing scale to 1:200.)

Hope that helps,
Trevor

I'm not very clear of what you mean, you mean about the dimscale factor? In Mspace, drawing is scale 1:1 but in Pspace, vp scale is 1"=30'. Even with the master drawing (master base map) when I switch to Pspace, all lables become very small. I have looked at the Lable Style but nothing helps. I think I have to set some thing to control the display of contour labels, but I don't know how and where.

Thanks

We have a similar situation with contour labeling in mode/paper space. Would you care to share how you resolved this issue.
