Contour labels have a perp line going thru it

When I label my Contour lines there is a blue line(perp) running right thru the middle of it.

I have looked to take it off but can not find it. Thanks for help

"Contour Label Line" set to False in Properties Palette.

This Can also be set to False in the Feature Settings Tab> Surface>Rt. Click>Edit Feature Settings>Contour Labeling Defaults>Display Contour Line>False in the dwt.

If you don't want to see the lines set them to False.

HERE'S a write up I did on my blog a while back. It was done in the 2010 version of the software but it is still applicable for 2014.

If you have a bunch of them, select one, right-click and choose Select Similar so you can globally edit them.

Look into setting this behavior as default behavior in your company template so every time  you place a contour label the lines automatically hide. Look at the attachments to see how to do this.
