Contour Label Readability (BUG?)

I have been trying to plot contour labels up-hill with the readability set to false. Some labels correct themselves and others don't.

I have noticed a correlation between the direction in which the contour runs and the readability of the label.

When exploded back to polylines, should the contour vertices run right to left then the label can change between readable and not. If however the vertices run left to right they can only be readable.

Has anyone else noticed this and if so can it be fixed or have I simply lost the plot.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Its not only you Bob, I have noticed the same problem. unfortunately i have no help for you, but at least you know you haven't lost the plot.
