Somehow constraints have been turned on and I can't get rid of them - any ideas??

Set the CONSTRAINTINFER variable to 0.
(Command is same)
Thanks i tried that and still weirdness is occurring.....I've now WBLOCKed the filke as a new dwg and it seems ok

DelConstraint will delete them if that's what you need.
