Consistent freeze when breaking a feature line

Seems like every time I've tried to break a feature line using the feature
line toolbar I pick the first point and c3d freezes, never to return.
Anyone else getting this or are there any tricks to making it not happen
(like turning off the properties box in cad6 before selecting a complex
hatch)?

Using C3D 2008 on XP Pro with a 3GHz dual core Intel Xeon w/ 2G RAM and a
NVIDIA Quadro FX4600

(hey, that sounds a lot like National Lampoons "That's Not Funny, That's
Sick" album - "That's a Quadio Quatra Quirk 3000 you're drooling all over...
scumbag") 😉

Dave,

Are we talking about one particular featureline in a particular drawing? Or in all cases?

I don't have a lot of experience, but seems to be in all cases (2 projects
so far)
I've been goofing with the perf tuner and windows display settings and
haven't seen any improvement.

I have definitely noticed this issue. It seems to be more likely to freeze up if the feature line is long, with curves, and/or has tons of vertices. If its short and simple, breaking doesn't seem to be an issue.

I have experimented with exploding the feature line into a 3D poly, using the conventional BREAK command (which doesn't freeze Civil 3D), then converting it back to a feature line to benefit from the cool editing tools.

Would it be possible for you to wblock out one of the problem featureline into a drawing and send it to me?

Thanks

It's funny that you ask that because we have a simple quick wblock-to-temp
routine that I tried to use on that same feature and that froze me too.
I'll get it to you, though.
