Does anyone have a clean civil 3d 2014 template? I have heard of the stories regarding the acad.dwt template and would like to use a civil 3d based one. Is there a way to clean out everything except for what civil 3d needs to run? I need a template for autocad based work (scales, cad, hatches, etc) and would like to strip styles and pipe catalogs and everything else out.
Thanks.
L,
How about opening up "Civil 3D as AutoCAD", which puts you in Vanilla Land:

So I'm taking it you just want the layers nothing else so the drawing is not astronomically large?
Easiest way is to go into a drawing created with "acad.dwt". After that open Autocad Design Center (command: ADC). Browse to your usual template like you would in windows. Select the items you want and either drag and drop or right click add.
Hope that helps.
It would be nice to have everything out but I think with Civil 3D information gets added once the file is opened in c3d. And the whole acad.dwt template removing feature lines issue I would like to avoid. I think the drafters have to use C3D to get the objects (such as alignments) to show-I have nto confirmed this.
I am planning to meet tomorrow to see what information they need to utilize. Hopefully we can take out many of the styles except for the bare minimum Basic styles.
Thanks.
A style purge under the mamage tab will expedite this process.
