Civil3d 2011 Will not Display Ribbon

I am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display.  The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter.  I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.

I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen.  I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.

I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc.  Same error.

I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.  Any ideas?

I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.

No great insights from me....but I'm using 2011 with no problems.  Was it working correctly for a while, or has the problem been there since installation?  Can you test an installation on a different machine?  And when you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you clean up all evidence of ACAD on the machine for a 'clean' installation?

It was working fine.  I moved offices this morning.  When I set my workstation back up in the new office this is what happened!  Not sure why shutting it down, moving it to the office across the hallway and turning it back on again would do this.  I have uninstalled it again.  Double checked all folders with Civil3D 2011 and checked the Windows registry to make sure it was completely removed and am installing it now.  Fingers crossed.

Hi Brian,

You may want to follow the instructions to clean install Civil 3D 2011 from the following link:

I will try these exact steps this afternoon and see if that clears it up.  I did not remove the folders from other users profiles.  Maybe that will do it.  Thank y ou.

After tons of suggestions, Autodesk Help, and talking to my VAR, I finally fixed it. Thanks to everyone that provided suggestions as to what to try. Here is what I did that finally fixed it:

I Uninstalled/re-installed Civil3D 2011 at least five times. I did a clean install. But some of them I failed to remove anything from other users that have logged on to my machine. Got rid of them and removed all instances of Autodesk from the machine's registry. That didn't work. During this process i uninstalled/installed the .NET framework but that didn't fix it.

We have a network license and install file for Civil3D. I checked the install log file and noticed that some of the installs failed when installing Directex and Microsoft Visual Basic Power Packs. I downloaded those files (packs 3 and 10) from the appropriate websites. Uninstalled them from my machine. Rebooted. Installed them . Rebooted. Opened Civil3D and it is now functioning fine.

It seems that one of those two frameworks were corrupted somehow. Bizarre but I'm glad it is all working now.

Again thanks for the help. Now back to work.
