Hi
Is there a way I can sort the columns in the dashboard alphabetically? Normally you just click the title in these windows to toggle the way it sorts it, but you cannot do that with this tool. Its making my cut/fill report look messy, as the surface volumes are not in any order.
Thanks
MArtin
No can do with this tool as it is at the moment
Either need to make sure you pick the boundaries in the required order or create xml file and paste to excel and do the sorting there

How has this not been fixed yet? Still can't sort alphabetacally on Civil 2015.
And even if you pick the boundaries in a specific order Civil sometimes messes up the order.

I agree it's a major PITA but I'd guess it's just not a big priority for Autodesk as it isn't anything to do with 360/Cloud based products
You're so cynical. 😉

Well that's too bad... i mean, who wants to show anything now a days in a random order.
I'm no expert but i'm pretty sure sorting is a basic concept in highschool programming classes..
Refer to post 5 - if they can't make a wizzy marketing video then everything else is at the bottom of the pile. They seem to forget that people need to produce quantities at the end of the day from which to get a build cost and these quantities are the basis of everything else.
It's quite fun trying to find how many "irritations" are still present in 2017 with no sign of a fix or improvement

Has this been added yet using 2016 and still cant find a way to sort the volumes in the dashboard.
Would be nice for simplicity when viewing and nice when exporting.

With 2016, even the pick order doesn't necessarily dictate the display order - which I find infuriating. The only reliable method to get the order you need is to generate the report and copy or import to Excel, then sort there.

No Ideas for the Dashboard, but what's about sorting the report?
A small change/add to Line 53 in
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2017\enu\Data\Cut Fill Report\CutFillReport.xsl
...
<xsl:for-each select="AeccCutFillReport/VolumeSummary/Volume">
<xsl:sort select="@name"/>
<tr style="HEIGHT:30px">
...
will sort the CUT/FILL Report.

Thanks, good Tip I am using it right now.
However i do agree that this is something that should be added in.

Seriously with one line of code you just fixed something we've been irritated by for years. You'd think someone at Autodesk would've thought of doing this themselves instead of leaving it to the community.
I did as you recommended and the xml report that is generated is fine. However, if I select to insert cut/fill summary in to the drawing it still shows up in disarray.
Any other recommendations?
