Civil 3D not using points from Civil CAD dwg or dxf

Hey,

I am trying to create a surface from a dxf and dwg file (tried both) which has been created in Civil CAD 6.8.

Civil 3D doesn't seem to recognise the Civil CAD points as being points, they appear to be blocks and are named as civil cad points in properties, but when I create a points group with them and a surface it doesn't accept them as being points and therefore does not create a surface.

Any idea's?

Cheers, James

I presume the points are at true elevation. The
only way to use them in the surface is to add them as autocad entities directly
to the surface. You can't group them because they are not Civil3d
points.

If you want c3d points you will need to export to a
csv file from civilcad.

Or use Stringer to import civilcad asc files
directly into c3d:)

Another option is to export the point to xml if you still have access to civilcad

You may be able to explode the blocks and be left with points and text. this is the way I deal with Eaglepoint point blocks.
