Civil 3D data not displaying on screen

I have a few drawings that for some reason will not display any Civil 3D data on the screen (i.e. surface, alignment, profile). The data seems to be there as it shows up in my toolspace. I'm not getting any errors, it just doesn't display in my drawing.

Toolspace -> General -> Edit Feature Settings -> Show Tooltips (ON).

One place to look.

if you are looking for tooltips, here is a post that shows a few ways you
can lose your tooltips:

I had that happen as well. The surface seems to be in the drawing, but the contour lines were highlighting separately instead of all together like they do in a surface. I thought they were only the existing contour polylines that we got from the aerial company. I did a thaw all & reset surface settings to 1 & 5' contours and had them show up so I know the surface is there. (the aerial data was only 2 & 10)

I have various styles that I've created and used in other drawing files that have worked fine. The information seems to be there, but I can't see it on the screen with all layers even thawed. One suggestion was to check if "show tool tips" was on. I checked and it was on....Any other thoughts. I'm stuck with this one file that I desperately need to work and soon!
