I guess I like the new highlight feature in 2015, (would prefer to have the choice of just dashing selections as in previous versions), but does anyone know if you can change the color that the selection highlights to? It appears to change the selected object to about 150 (blue). We use that color alot on drainages and when manipulating polylines, it's driving me batty not being able to tell when I have lines selected. Anyone else run into this?

Set SELECTIONEFFECT = 0.
That got about half of it. it makes them dashed after selected. Is there a way to change the color that is shows when "preview selection" is used? When I hover over an object before selection, I still can't tell if it's selecting the 150 color lines.
AFAIK, the color of the objects remain the same when doing a preview selection but the effect can be
changed to dashed by setting PRESELECTIONEFFECT=0.
PERFECT! That'll do. What's AFAIK?

As far as I know.
I had a hard time as well with this new neon blue highlight feature.
It looks cool at a first glance but it's like someone poking pitch forks into my eyeballs.
Thanks Jay, I guess I'll have to be more up on the internet lingo/anagrams. lol
I really liked it. Didn't seem to bother me that much. Just didn't work out for ojects of the same color. Why woulodn't they put these selections in the properties box like in previous versions, but leave the system variable commands in place? Makes no sense. Another one is retiring the 'ED' command for editing text and other items, I added it back in. It's been around FOREVER. Why retire such a fundamental command?
Dave,
The DDEDIT command was retired in Autocad 2015 but the pgp file alias ED is still supposedly supposed to function & be redirected to TEXTEDIT command.
I tried the ED alias here and it doesn't work for me either in C3D 2015.
Your question caused me to look into this a bit deeper and I've learned that Civil 3D is using the same pgp from release to release (probably from 2013 to 2015) versions but likely back as far as the 2011 release.
For anyone reading, I've posted my findings over in This Autocad thread (page 4).
