I too have this problem.(Only recognizing materials on the right side)  My drawing is too big to attach.

I have installed the update as well.

Any thoughts?

I can confirm this error, just tested it with one of the Tutorial drawings.

What did SP1 fix? Would it be wise to detach from my deployment? I want to roll out this week. Currently the deploy has it appended

The list of fixes is available here.  I'd guess that the most important one for most people was the display problem in the Corridor Section editor.

I converted a large streets project as a test last Friday from 2012 to 2014 SP1 and at the time didn't think anything of my Curb Material Shapes missing from left side of Section Views, but upon further review, I am also missing the entire left side (material shapes) for every corridor. Material Volume Table only quantifies half the Assembly as previously mentioned.

In this case no big deal because it's already been constructed (and in all my testing last week) this is one of the biggest glitches I've seen so far with SP1 but there have been a handful.

If your on subscription and haven't already done so I'd recommend filing a Support Request for this issue and referencing this thread.

We just started our upgrade as we were awaiting the SP1 release, hopefully this issue get's fixed soon as we need to use Material Volumes on an upcoming project and hope not to have to revert to HF1.

wedzisi, This is tagged as solved, was that by an autodesk moderator? Doesn't seem like it is... a reinstall without sp1 doens't seem like a fix?? The last comment was posted back in Oct. 10th 2013, has anyone noticed and other major bugs??

This is definately not solved!!!!!

same issue here ...volume calulations on only half the section!

I spend more time chasing my tail with this program then I do on production.

It's "solved" from the perspective of this thread, a.k.a. There is a workaround. The software defect itself has not been solved.

The jury is out whether to mark these discussions as solved when there is a workaround vs when the defect has been fixed

There is also an error in the "publish selected layouts" command. I have made section Views witch has earthwork tables attached. I create layouts using section sheets. The layouts is ok. If i plot a single layout everything is ok. But if i use the "publish selected sheets" command, to plot all my sections at once and create a pdf , then the tables for section 1 is plot in section 3 and the same error affect all sections. I don't know how its happens. If i open the drawing with civil 3d 2013 then the publish command works ok.

Thank you.  Running numbers for a good stretch of interstate, and just realized I only have half a quantity of my structures.

This problem has been ongoing for five months.  Isnt one of C3D main function to compute earthwork quantities acurately?  This is crazy not to be a top priority for autodesk to fix. Can we not get a hot fix?????

I don't know about a Hot Fix. The release of 2015 is imminent and they have addressed some of the volume computation issues. The one I know specifically about is the software will now calculate volume based on 3D area (their words) instead of 2D footprint area.

As far as marked as solved. As Matt mentioned. There is still discussion of what qualifies a post as solved. The marked as solved function is to point users searching for a solution to their problem to a potential solution not to indicate an issue has been addressed by Autodesk. In this case the workaround was probably viewed as something that would solve that one issue and allow a user to continue working on their project. It never had anything to do with it being "solved" by Autodesk.

I'm still trying to find the workaround....

A very simple length x width x depth / 27 is not compatible for most jobs we build.

Yeah same here.
Almost every project we have requires shoulder widening to allow for guardrails at bridge ends.
