Civil 3D 2013 Profile View Minor grid DOT displays wierd

All

If you can see it in the image below, I am showing my minor grids with a dot linetype. I have a total of 6 profiles all of which appear to have the dots double up in random areas, they also print like this.

Any Ideas?11-7-2013 1-08-45 PM.png

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

We have a similar grid, are you by chance using 30 scale Imperial?

Recently we moved to 2014 from 2012. While our 30 scale dot linetype has always been a bit fickle when used in Civil 3d Profile Views, something has changed within C3d profile views compunding the issue you're describing.

What I ended up doing here to solve the issue was to have the linetype be slightly less than 1/6 =.16666667

that we had in our previous definition.

Going with .166666 is working here now.

We also have 20 & 50 scale Dot definitions but only the 30 causes trouble due to uneven result when dividing 50/30=1.6666667 to achieve 50' grid intervals etc.

Give the following linetype definition a try.

*DOT-30SC,30 Scale dot minor grid
A,0,-.166666

Unfortunately the linetype did not help my situation, but I certainly appreciate the advice.

Thanks,
Dave

OK Try this.

Profile View Properties>Stations Tab>User Specified Range> Set values to even +00 or +50's

And for the ending station enter .004999 or rounded to just under 0.01 & see if that helps?

Ie: End: value  X+00.004999 or X+50.004999
