Civil 3D 2012 Tooltips

Here is what is happening to me, and was wondering if anyone else is or has experienced this.

None of my tooltips are showing up after the ribbon loads.

1. Turn off the ribbon and shut down Civil 3D.

2. Restart Civil 3D, the ribbon is not loaded and all my tooltips show up.

3. All works good until I type "RIBBON" to load the ribbon.

4. The command line shows

     Loading AeciIb...,

     Loading AeciUiBase....,

     Loading AeciIbApi....,

     Loading AeciRibbonUiApi...,

     and the ribbon shows up.

5. And then NO tooltips.

4. Turning off the ribbon does not help until Civil 3D is restarted.

Repeat above.

I would really like to get on with using Civil3D 2012 however, this is a major annoyance for me and unless I can get a resolution for it I fear that I'm going to have to continue to use 2011.

Thanks for reading.

I have not experienced that situation, but you can turn them on or off by typing tooltips at the command line...0 for off or 1 for on.

I had created a support request with Autodesk and resolved the isssue.  It had to do with Raster Design ribbon segment.

They suggested that I unload the Raster Design segment using "CUILOAD" and unload "AUTOCADRASTERDESIGN" and the problem went away.  Not sure why it affects my system and no one else's, but I'm one step closer to moving into Civil 3D 2012.

Unloading Raster Design using cuiload command fixed the missing tooltips.

Thanks for the fix.

Is there a solution to having the surface tips and Raster Design Ribbon loaded ?

I want to have both 😛

This is similar to what is happening to me. But I don't have Raster even installed. I do not get any tooltips in 2012.

Tried turning off transparency in Win7 to no avail.

2011 works fine. Nothing in 2012.
