I'm currently using Civil 3D 2012 and recently had my computer upgraded to Windows 7. When I try to open an old drawing I created with Civil 3D 2010 in the 2012 program I get an AutoCAD Application box with the message "AutoCAD Application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program. Close the program." I then have no choice but to close the program. I was able to open the 2010 drawings with 2012 fine with Windows XP. Any ideas?
Change the properties of the dwg file to point to the updated AutoCAD Civil 3d executable.
Select the "change all files of this type" box
What happens if you let it run for a while? Win 7 is quick to apply the "Not responding" flag when an application is actually taking a long time to process e.g. converting a lot of content or searching for support files.
