Civil 3D 2011 will not load enterprise ribbon in workspace

I have a cuix setup as an enterprise menu. The drop-down menu loads up fine in my workspace. However, when i go to customize the workspace, and add the ribbon portion of the cuix, it fails to load it. The same enterprise menu loads fine in AutoCAD 2011. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Civil 3D have its specific workspace, have you appended your controls to it?
