civil 3d 2008 on terminal

i contacted tech support for autocad and they advised me they would not offer any help for terminal installs. My question to them was "will it work?" they couldn't give me a straight answer. I'm really not looking for step-by-step instructions, but i need to know if i have 4 remote workstations, will they run.

Autodesk won't give you an answer because according to the EULA, it's
illegal. I've been through this before, and it's in no way supported.

As far as "will it work" - once you step into that unsupported territory,
you're totally on your own. All I can suggest is that if you're
determined, you'll try it no matter what anyone says, then you'll be able to
figure out the answer yourself.

well no equipment has been bought and its not a matter of being determined, its more of a matter of being efficient. Do they offer terminal version of civil 3D? since its against eula to run it on one.

No, no terminal version is offered.

Since the terminal is just that - a dumb terminal, the program has to be
running on the server - multiple times if multiple people are using it.
With the system resource requirements of Civil 3D, I would imagine one would
see severely degraded performance unless the server could support it - which
is doubtful. Server requirements and Civil 3D requirements are on a
totally different wavelength. If it's a cost-saving attempt, I think the
cost savings would hardly be worth it. Are there any more reasons one
would want to run it on a terminal? What kind of efficiency would you hope
to expect?

Very good points (as always), Jason. I would imagine that the extremely poor performance would totally negate any desired and expected benefits that Civil 3D has to offer.
