it would be nice to use as back of curb, sidewalk, etc. If so, how?

Not directly in the Create in the Create Intersection command but you can create additional offset alignments after the command is done and/or simply offset the alignment to get a non-dynamic polyline.

Hi Brian Perfect. My reliance/ submission to the ribbon tricked me. I didn't think to go to alignment offset command when the ribbon directed me to intersection tools only
