Can't WBLOCK a drawing

I am running Civil 3D 2011 and am having trouble wblocking some drawings.  I can get through the whole process including selecting the objects.  However, when I hit OK, I don't get the message to include Map objects and it goes to the command prompt.  No wblocked file is created.  It is only sporadic.  Is there some system variable I'm missing or some sort of drawing lock?  Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same trouble yesterday. After multiple tries at WBlocking I tried to do a copy/paste. After I selected the entities and hit copy. I got an error "Copy to clipboard failed". It seemed to be one Surface that was causing the problem.

The disturbing thing is that the Surfaces was Built from Featurelines and at some point those Featurelines disappeared. I reverted to a recent backup and had the lines back and then had no problem WBlocking the surface.

The first thing I'd suggest you try is to Audit and/or Recover your files.
