can't edit styles in settings tab

i have lost the ability to edit civil 3d styles in 2014. if i right-click on any style or settings in the settings tab, i get nothing, no dialog no command.

if i try to right-click an edit any existing 3d objects, like a corridor, i get nothing, or a fatal error.

i have tried fixing, and eventually completly uninstalling and cleaning out all registry and other files, and re-installing, still no luck

is this Autocad, or is my windows scewed.

windows 8.1

civil 3d 2014 (sp2)

please help

Can you reproduce the issue with a new file on the same PC?

Can you reproduce it on another PC with the same file?

Do you manage your data as per Autodesk Civil 3D Best Practices to avoid overloading one file with data?

all files, new and old do the same thing

all other pc's in the office have no trouble

we use xrefs to limit size, and keep all files regularly purged and audited.

If the other PC's in the office can open the problem file you had in the original post then your PC has the issue.

Since you have tried a repair & clean install I would next try creating a new user on the PC, start and initialize C3D and try again. With some luck this will work and it is just a user profile issue.

If not I might look into the hardware & OS being used. Can you post that?

Having this issue with the clean install sounds very odd IMO.
