were ther any Mimes involved?
Its the new CER dialog, big improvement, eh?

What were you doing when we gave you the non-verbal warning that something was wrong?
I have seen that dialog box when an Access database was attempted to be opened in a locked folder.

As far as we know, this can happen very late during Civil 3D shutdown but rest assured there should not be any impact on any open drawings since they would have been closed by then. At this point we know one situation that Peter Funk mentioned. If you have a way to reproduce it consistently, do let us know we can investigate that.
I'm pretty sure the question was not, "Delete all files on C:\?"

I actually saw someone answer yes to that question once. Actually it was "Are you sure you want to format C: (Y/N)".

Yes, I think it happened while C3D was shutting down. At least, I think I shut down C3D and left, and when I got back some hours later, that was on my screen.
i can confirm that i am getting the same message box in 2011. i have to look into it a little deeper to see when it happens, but for now i can tell it's mostly during closing out of the software.
I started receiving the non-verbal warning window when closing C3D2012 only after installing C3D2013 on my system.
I do not receive the warning when I close out of C3D2013 though.

We're tracking this issue for 2012/2013 right now. We know it is happening very late in the shut down cycle after the database (current drawing) has been closed. It appears that it is trying to release an module that was already released and that is throwing the error. Because it is so late in the cycle there are no messages strings left in memory so it puts up the empty message. We'll continue to look for the root cause of the problem and see if we can find a better solution than "!"

I thought I had the solution, "Don't worry about it." Worked so far.

no dialog might be a nice solution 🙂

I get that box when (and only when) I've used Advanced Road Design in the C3D session. Might help track the cause.
Greg Smith
I haven't used Advanced Road Design... A third-party product, correct? But I use the Sincpac-C3D... So maybe the core of this problem is whenever you have a netloaded product installed.
Just kind of confused about WHY I only see it occasionally, and not all the time, since I always use the Sincpac-C3D.
Thanks for the additional information, it seems to fit into the pattern that we are seeing here. We're pretty sure it is a COM reference count issue on the unload.
I would say that Civil 3D is "speechless" instead of it giving you the "silent treatment".
Again, your drawing files have been closed and are safe when this warning dialog appears.

Yep, it seems to be an innocuous error, just perplexing.
Getting this "message" every time I exit 2012 - still on legacy projects otherwise I'd be using 2013

Hi Neil,
Jeff_M posted in an earlier message that repairing his C3D 2012 install resolved the problem for him. Could you please try that and let us know the results? Thanks.
