The hot fixes for C3D have not been encompassing at fixing the stabitlity and other issues as traditionally Service Packs have. This software is crashing during design operations frequently.
Matt, do you actually do Civil design work or just sell the software? I think we need to know where you sit before you stand on these issues.
Yes, I do need to know. It is warranted and very enlightening.
My software rep has been getting numerous complaints about the crashing. They are pretty bummed out about it.
As entertaining as this line of questioning has been, it's moot. Your original question was answered long ago in this thread, regardless of whatever we think about it. Fact is, there is nothing called a Service Pack for C3D 2013 and there is no way of knowing if/when there will be.
I've been playing around with Civil 3D 2013 on Win 8 at home a little bit, and I've certainly had crashes. I've chalked it up to the current version of C3D not being totally compatible with Win 8, but now I'm wondering if it's more just a C3D problem hearing of all these crashes with Win 7.
Brian Hailey speaks the truth. Often we do not know when the Update will be released until the day of release. I would encourage you to check back often or subscribe to the knowledge base's RSS feed to be notified of any release.
In regards to the crashes, have you been troueblesooting this issue to see if it can be addressed?
Do you get CER reports when you crash? Do you submit them? Under what email address?
Does this happen in all drawings or just one?
Are there a specific set of steps one needs to follow in order to reproduce? You mention corridor operations and extracting feature lines. I have tested various corridor operations and extracted feature lines many times and have not experienced a crash.

Yes, crashes in more than one drawing, on more than one computer. There is also just not crashing to address, but the label reactor bugs I have mentioned and submitted to Autdesk.
Yes, I have submitted all of the crash reports as you mention under my subscription email address. As, I mentioned before it has gotten tiresome typing out the steps before the crash, so now it has gotten to the point that I just give a very abbreviated explanantion, or none at all and just send it in, but I always send them in. You can research that under that email. The submissions always process for about 20 seconds, and comes back with the message that there is "no solution avalaible at this time".
*The main indifference here, is a feeling that 2013 can't be fully trusted yet when working in a project. By this, I mean the feeling it could go "poof" at an inopportune time, a shaky kind of feeling, such as in the middle of corridor operations, where it is starting to get concerning that there may have been quite a few design steps executed since the last Save.

I have escalated this case so I can provide you with what I have found in regards to your CER reports. In the 18 reports listed under your email address, 7 are linked to a known issue that seems to be addressed in Map 3D 2013 Update 1 (which is inherited by Civil 3D’s Update 1). I also saw one other issue linked that looks like it was addressed in the core AutoCAD Update 1 (which again is inherited by Civil 3D’s Update 1). As you know, nothing is set in stone until the final release to customers, but this is what I can see from my end.
Based on my findings and the record of the last month it does seem that you would benefit from the release of Update 1 for Civil 3D 2013. Unfortunately, as I stated in the forums, I do not know when this will be release. Judging from past release cycles I would have to assume that this will be coming sooner rather than later, but again, I have not been given any information on potential release dates.
I will now link this case to the known issues stated above so Development will know that another customer has inquired to Support about this issue. Per our policy we will now go ahead and close this case, leaving it linked to Development’s issue. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
