Building assembly

Being somewhat new to Civil 3D here what I'm trying to do :

I am builing an roadway assembly that requires a 10' gravel shoulder on each side of a 16' wide site access paved road that slopes at 2% right to left as you look at the basic assembly. At the end of the shoulder the daylight will be at 3:1 to an existing surface whether in cut, or fill. How do I build the 10' gravel shoulder since most of the assemblies under the Shoulder tab are paved? I'm guessing this is probably simple, but I could not find anything on the Autodesk website to help me thru this problem.

thanks,

You can use Generic Pavement Structure and change the Shape Code to Gravel or something that makes sense to you. Just because the subassy is called "Pavement" doesn't mean it has to be used for pavement. This sub has customizable codes for links, points and shapes.

If you want to utilize the functionality of the Shoulder SA's, you can change the local codes to suit your office or regional formats. See the Help.

Tcorey,

Taking that I am not a Civil 3D expert & we are using Civil 3D 2012 is the
method you speak of

in the Generic Sub-Assemblies? ( trying to add a 1:10 shoulder, then 3:1 to
existing )

If that's the case which of the options will work for the shoulder?

I've never had formal Civil 3D training & I try to pick it up as I can thru
use.

thanks
