Autosave Fatal Error

We are running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 on Dell 790 Optiplex systems. We keep getting a message (sporadic) when autosave kicks in..."Fatal Error, Drawing Recovery Recommended". Press the "ok" button and the save happens but there must be a reason why this message keeps popping up? It is happening on numerous systems and in numerous drawings so it is NOT specific to a system or a drawing. Turning "Autosave" off is not an option as most users do not want to shut it off for obvious reasons.

Do you have all of the C3D 2012 updates installed? Autosave crashes were fixed with an update in one of the older releases.

In lieu of crashing often when it fires, turning it off would be a much better option in my opinion. Pressing Ctrl+S every few commands is much safer anyway.

Do you ever get a fatal error when you do a regular save? If not, check the %temp% directories on these machines and make sure they are not full (and by full, I mean containing thousands and thousands of files)

Have you run a recover or an audit on the file?
