I'm logged into Autodesk 360 and the little icon has been spining away for around 30 minutes - is this right??

Unfortunately, yes. It's syncing all your settings to the cloud. I have mine disabled. You can disable it in the Options.
OK thanks - a pop up message eventually appeared saying there was a problem syncing; I've now turned it off.
I have the most of the sync settings ticked so presumably it is copying all my support files, templates, Lisps etc etc which could explain why it was taking forever....
