AutoCAD SP1 Vs. Civil 3D SP1

Does the Civil 3D Service Pack 1 contain the same updates as the AutoCAD SP1? By glancing though the readme files for each, it seems that the Civil 3D SP1 2006 doesn't necessarly address problems that were in AutoCAD 2006. Am I wrong in thinking of Autodesk Civil 3D uses AutoCAD 2006 as a base application?

No, they're completely different. I would bet that we'll see a C3D SP2 or 1A
that will roll in the Acad SP. Maybe even some things found between 1 and
now. I wouldn't hold you breath on that one though.

No, the Civil 3D 2006 Service Pack 1 does not include AutoCAD SP1.

not that I'm complaining or anything, It's just out of curiosity. Do you know if and when an update might come that will address the AutoCAD updates as well?

Why wait? Himanshu didn't indicate that you had to wait for anything from
AutoDesk for C3D. C3D only uses AC for it's drafting tools anyway.

I installed the Civil 3D patch back when it was first released. I was just wondering.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about any unreleased products until
Autodesk announces it publicly.

If you are asking "is the Civil team completely ignoring the AutoCAD service
pack?" it is a pretty safe bet that they are not.

ADT is usually the first vertical to release a service pack after it is
released for AutoCAD, so I wouldn't expect to see anything for Map, C3D or
LDT until after you see one for ADT. What's more, LDT and C3D both sit on
top of Map, so don't expect to see a service pack for those until after you
see one for Map.
