Assembly with vertical cut and fill daylight lines

I'm checking contractor's pay app for current on site cut and fill quanties and need to use a vertical daylight line for this case.  Which daylight line do i use to do this and how do I properly set it up?  I'm using C3D 2012.  i tried the "LinkVertical" line on the Generic tab but getting bad results.

thanks for any help

C3D cannot handle true vertical or you would have multiple z's for an xy pair.

Try offsetting one of the FL's .001 or so to have "almost-vertical" instead.

You can also use either LinkWidthAndSlope or LinkSlopeToSurface with the slope set really high - say 99999%
