alignments from 3dpolylines

I have a heap of flood section locations which are from an outside source which are 3d polyline objects. The alignment from object does not accept 3d polys. what is the best way to make these into alignments. If the answer is to convert these two 2d polys, then please explain how to do it.

Yes, convert to a 2d polyline first. Go to the Modify tab of the Ribbon. click the downarrow next to Design on the Design panel. Pick Convert 3d to 2d Polylines.

Optionally, you can simply type Convert3dPolys at the command line.

If you were to consider 3rd party software, the Sincpac-C3D addon has the CreateAlignProf command that will create an alignment and profile from 3dPolylines.
