Alignment Station Inquiry

Hi,

I am doing road widening project. I created center line of road alignment, I want to check some station using "Inquiry", "Alignment Station and Offset". I select the point that I need to verify and the result is "SPECIFIED POINT IS OUTSIDE THE THE ALIGNMENT RANGE".

I double checked my alignment, stationing and other command that confirmed that I am at the "right" alignment but still does't work.

Please help,

Hi All:

I'm having the same problem...  Did you ever figure it out?  I also tried to create a new alignment but still having the same problem.

Thank you.

Does the Inquiry work in certain areas along the alignment?

If I try to run an Inquiry to get a Station Offset within the acute angle extensions of an alignment PI, I get this same message.

There is no true Station Offset in this scenario as the only "correct" station offsets are typically reported perpendicular or radial to an alignment or baseline.

When I run into this situation I'll usually use coordinates instead.

The 2 yellow lines are drawn perpendicular to the alignment segments and within this yellow area C3d will not calculate Sta./Off. values.

Jay_B,

Yes the Inquiry only works in certain areas along the alignment.

Thanks
