(Again): Plotting points at stations of horizontal alignment,

(Again): Plotting points at stations of horizontal alignment,

I wanted to plot points at the stations of horizontal alignment to be then able to capture their XYZ and thus can be stored on the GPS devise for setting out on the field.

The points are not plotted (please, see the attached screenshots

What might be the issue here?

Thank you

Best

Jamal

Many thanks DaveDrahn,

The points are not plotted! Not added to the drawing.

What might be wrong with it then?

Can you post the dwg here (or on dropbox, google drive, sky drive, etc)? I'd look at the profile values first, do they make sense with the stationing requested. Also look at the points list in prospector to make sure they are not being added under a non visible style, etc. The basics but it's always good to make sure you're checking there first.

Many thanks Dav for the help,

The dwg is attached. All what I wanted to do is to capture the xyz values of the horizontal alignment of the cureve as shown in the attached screenshot

Jamal,

On clip_395.jpg, try setting prompt for elevations to Automatic.

It worked fine using the method you were trying. Except your V-NODE layer is frozen....

Good reason to check all the obvious first. And you won't get Z values without a defined profile, but this brought them into the alignment just fine.

Thank you very much Jay_B and Dave for the help,

The elevation is set to be Automatic + the layer “V-NODE” layer is unfrozen (attached), nevertheless, it doesn’t work. The points are not added to the drawing.

The software sticks at the “Ending Station” step (attached) and doesn’t want to leave it

What might be the issue here?

Appreciated Dave for the screenshot. You got it. For me I’m still struggling

Try it again, not going to the end station. Instead, type in 160 (0+160) as the final station.

I added a short profile Elevations 300-303 and it works here with 2014 Civil 3d.

Points>Alignment>Measure used as in your captions.

(ALL point creation Command Settings were set to Automatic)and did a range from 0+000 to 0+060 where my profile ended.

Also had to thaw V-node layer as previously mentioned.

Many thanks Dave and Jay_B for the prompt help,

Sorry but still it is not working for me.

I tried it again from scratch (the dwg is attached) but sounds not to work at all. The software sticks at “Ending station” and doesn’t want to leave it.

I tried to type the “ending station” in all possible formats but did not work. Almost desperate!

What might be the issue then? Why should it be very challenging like this?

Did you try for example 164.00 (leaving out the +) ?
And does your profile end before the end of your alignment Station of 0+164.20?

I thought the same thing Jay mentions. Try it again and instead of accepting the default ending station type in 164.

Many thanks Jay_B and Dave,

I tried typing 164 but not 164.20 and it did work! Is this a bug?

Possibly. It's possible that the end station is really 164.19965, so 164.2 is beyond the end. But Autodesk should know better, so I'd say yes.

Many thanks Dave. Sounds that the method you have recommended works fine
