Maybe I am just missing something obvious. Where do you define the AEC Project Information available to insert as a field? It seems really useful if you don't have a sheet set for a project. Fields available under the AEC Project filed category are: Project Name, Number, Description, Location, Detail, Number of Levels, and Number of Divisions.
Thanks,

I've been told that in early incarnations of Civil 3D, there was a tab in OPTIONS that had these items. As far as I know, that tab disappeared in one of the early releases, and these Fields are vestigial remnants that are not supported in the current product (if they were ever supported in Civil 3D).
Land Desktop also used to have an "AEC Project Defaults" tab in OPTIONS, but I don't think that functionality was ever supported in Land Desktop, either. I think it came from Architectural Desktop, or something like that.
I believe File>> drawing properties will get you waht you want.

Unfortunately, those are stored inside each drawing. Ideally, we would have Fields that are Project-wide, and shared by all drawings in a Project. This is one benefit to Fields that are in Sheet Sets - update a value in the Sheet Set, and it changes in all drawings that are attached to the Sheet Set.
I agree fields from sheet sets are more powerful. However, these drawing properties fields can be very useful on smaller projects that only have one drawing and are not associated with a sheet set.
Thats correct. However, the OP stated they were not interesdted in SSM. A project specific DWT files populated with the desired attributes can solve the per drawing issue.

A better solution is for Autodesk to add Project support to Civil 3D. But I've been ranting about that for 3 1/2 years now...
If there is anyone thing I can say I miss from LDT it is the project based feature. I have many users that will never get the data shortcut concept and Im concerned for when they can no longer use LDT.
