Adding floating curves on existing free curves?

How to add floating curves on existing free curves?

I try some of the free floating curves but when I select the existing curve it says that it is inpossible to add floating curve on free curve. I have to delete the curve entity and to add new spiral-curve-spiral entity - but when I delete the existing curve the corridor and cross sections goes to hell.

Is there a way to add floating curves on existing allighnment with free curves?

If the program is giving you that meessage, most likely you cannot. You may have to change the contraint of the curve from free to fixed (Edit Alignment Geometry to bring up the Alignment Layout Tools and go to the Grid editor) before adding your next curve.

You might want to look into the compound/reverse curve options in the Alignment Layout Tools. These are preset curve combinations that will behave correctly and maintain tangency. Just remove your current curve and put it back as part of a compound/reverse curve set.
