Add points to project

I have been going through the tutorials and I've run into a little problem.
In the tutorial Project Management->Creating and Adding Project Data->To add
data to the project, I right click on the point group "_All Points", select
"Add Points to Project..." and I get the dialog box to add the points to the
project but when I do the same to the point group "Existing Ground Points",
I don't get the dialog box and it just adds the points to the project (I
think). Also, in the tutorial, it says the drawing icon state will change
showing the point group is a project object but in my drawing, it doesn't
change. I can get the surface added to the project and its icon changes but
the point group doesn't seem to work for me. Has anyone gotten this to work
correctly? If so, did you have to do any additional steps not outlined in
the tutorial? If not, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for any help on this. I'm really looking forward to using Civil3D.

Brian,

Did you choose Add Points to Project instead of Add to Project?

One will add the points in the group, the other will add the Point Group
definition.
