acad error log

Hello,

When I closed AutoCAD Civil 3D after drawing, there appears an error log on my computer (folder Documents).

This is the error log:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x53ea0f2c Exception at 5ca02858h

03/13/2011 at 10:06:11.809 drawing:
-------------

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Hi brecht.devolder-

Unfortunately that is a very generic error message and does not give us much to go on, could you possibly provide some additional information regarding this error message? Such as:

Does this happen in one drawing or all drawings?

Does this happen on one machine or all machines?

Are there an specific steps to reproduce or are you just closing out Civil 3D and you get this error message?

"FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0039 Exception at cf17b5f0h"

is a message I've received multiple times today working with one particular drawing.  It happens every time I switch layouts.  I've tried using a few different methods for switching layouts (sheet set, etc.), but they all come up SPLAT.

Windows 7, 64-bit

Civil 3D 2011 64-bit version

Service Pack 1 not installed, because every time I've tried, I get this message:

"c3d2001_x64_sp1.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

Thanks,

Yates

Hello,

It happens everytime when I close AutoCAD, not when I close a drawing. The error file is found in the folder of the last drawing.

It only happens on my pc.

Windows 7 Ultimate- 32 bits

Thanks!

Thanks for the information.

The first thing I would recommend you try is to have another user log onto your machine and see if they can reproduce. If they do not get the error, then it could be due to a corrupted Windows profile. If this is the case please follow these instructions to reset your settings: http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS14929107

Hi Yates,

Not sure what the error means at this point but the message you are getting when trying to install Update 1 often indicates that the download was not valid, corrupted or interrupted. I'd try to save the EXE locally and see if you can run it after that. Once you manage to do that you may try to run repair of install in Control Panel>Programs and Features and then install Update 1 (SP1). Good luck!

Thanks.  You're right SP1 for 64-bit was not downloaded correctly.  My other issue (Fatal Error) was resolved as soon as our IT guy VPN'ed into my computer.  Once he came in, I could not recreate the error.  After he left my screen, it didn't crash again.  Go figure.  I forwarded him your response about user specific software issues and since it involves editing the registry, we will use this as a last resort before attempting to Repair the Installation.

thanks again,

yates

Hi,

What can you say about this error? I can't handle it.

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled access violation reading 0x0010 exception at 5e619613h

i tried to delete a line and write block, but it didn't work and acad error log icon appears in same folder.
