3D Faces for a surface

If you have a drawing that has a surface that is nothing but 3D faces, using Civil 3D, create a surface from those 3D faces. The software is able to do this but the resulting surface keeps disappearing from the Prospector Tab. It crashes about every five minutes, especially when you pick the "Qsave". If I do a XML out from Land Desktop, XML this same surface into Civil 3D, it seems to work fine. Looks like there is a problem creating surfaces from 3D faces.

We ran through this with a few surfaces here and did not see a problem.
Any chance you could post the dwg with the 3D faces to the customer-files
