3D Civil Design unusable in South-Africa

Here is a short description of the problem why we cannot use Civil 3D in South Africa.

South Africa has a unique coordinate system to the rest of the world. South Africa uses right hand rule mathematics whilst the rest of the world uses left hand rule mathematics. This means that you can change the X and Y coordinates in AutoCAD but then the Z direction becomes incorrect. This means that a value of, lets say 1734.456 becomes -1734.456. The effect is that a heap of ground is then reflected as a dam.

We found that the problem lies in AutoCAD, the base product, and not in Civil 3D or Map. Once this has been fixed in AutoCAD, then all Autodesk products will support this feature. I have tried several times (since 2001) to get this issue resolved, but without any luck. This issue just gets ignored every time.

Bentley and Civil Designer has also resolved this issue in a very short timespan, and uses this "SHORTCOMING" of AutoCAD to sell into the Civil market. Currently Autodesk cannot provide a solution for South Africa, meaning that any company using design software for roads etc. will buy the competition's software instead.

Why is Autodesk ignoring the problem and choose to lose large deals in Africa?

There is a way around this. I'm in South Africa and I use LDD with out a problem. Technocad develops Civil Engineering applications on AutoCad for the South African and they don't have a problem.
