2007 C3D Tutorial - Points

All,

When following the C3D tutorial on page 28 (Changing the style of a Point
group), right after step 5, my computer just quits running Civil 3D. It's
not locked up as I can go to other applications, and when I press
CTRL-ALT-DEL it does not show the app as 'Not responding' or at 100%.

But I cannot do anything further in Civil 3D 2007. I've tried it 3 times and
it did it at the exact same spot all three times.

I was looking at the tutorials for my users and I *know* I'll hear the
screams now. Can anyone else duplicate this?

Thanks,

Rick

Yes, I can duplicate this. Even any open tool pallettes can be relocated,
although the mouse cursor shows itself approx. 1" away from the actual pick
point when doing so....

Yet now that I have switched to composing this message I am unable to get
the C3D screen to come back up.....it displays my Outlook Express screen,
which is the application I switched to once it stopped responding.

I am also getting the same thing happening to me. I get to the same point and it just puts you in limbo. Also Civil 3D has been crashing on me a lot while working on the tutorials. I thought Civil 3D 2007 would be more stable than 2006 but it is not giving me much hope yet.

Does anyone have a solution to this yet?

Kevin,

The only way to properly change the Point Group's Point Label Style is In the
Properties - Information Tab.

Mark,

I got that, but why is the C3D 2007 points tutorial locking up so often? I
can go back and do the exact same tutorial in 2006 and it works fine. Funny
thing is that it seem that C3D 2007 is still running, but only the left
mouse click is disabled? I can still right click and also drag windows and
toolbars -- just can't left click "ok" or "cancel"...

It's a defect in 2007.
