Laurie, Jon you interested?

I have a Vba i got from AU last year that i am tring to custoimize to calculate volumes every .5 foot. right now it calculates every 1 or more intervals between the elevations selected. also it prompts the user to select 4 points to create the bo8ndary of the comaprison surface, i would like to be able to only select 2 points upper left and lower right or vise vera. i am exhausted trying to figure this out so i thought i would post it to the experts!

Hi,

Always curious.

However, what are the copyright implications?

Do you have rights to pass the code on?

Will anyone else have rights to edit the code?

Laurie,

I found a handout on the AU site here http://au.autodesk.com/sessions/detail/1069/

I am guessing this is the class that tma is reffering to. It looks like the bulk(maybe all) the required code is in the handout.

I have no idea what the use guidelines are on AU papers, I assume as they give them away you could do what you wanted with it.

Laurie,

i am not sure how to answer you question, although Booker is correct the code is in the handout. what do you think? i do remember mention of the code being stripped down for AU and a baises to work with. i downloaded a trial of RSI from their website and found the storage calculator to be quiet fancy, although it still did not meet the requirements we need.

Hi Tommie,

I don't have the data. All I could do is read what it says with it. To be
more certain, you could check with the presenter.

My expection of printed handouts is that the code on them would become "Open
Source" and the presenter would be expecting attendees at the class to
customise to their specific needs - but I'm not an American lawyer and my
total knowledge is limited to what I read in these newsgroups.

I ran the CV204-1L AutoCAD Civil 3D: Using Atuomation to Generate a Pond Stage-Storage Table last year at Autodesk University.

Please feel free to use and modify the code from the session for your own purposes.

I can't recall for sure, but I thought that the sample from the presentation would allow you to generate information every 0.5 feet. (In the sample code, the "sample every" field should allow you to set this)

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the clarification and the permission.

I don't have access to the code as I was not an attendee at AU. It is is
posted here I can look at it.

Hi,

Zip it and post to the "autodesk.autocad.customer.files" Newsgroup.

Put a message here advising you have done so.

The dvb has not been posted to the customer-files ng.

Did you mean to?

Send directly to me at Jon at stringersurvey.com if you like.
