Civl3D 2013 .NET Easting and Nothing with Precision.

Hi All,

 I can get the northing and easting of an object in Civil3D but it comes without any precision (example: 23234 not 123234.234)

I need to get the NE with 3 decilamal precision. Any idea of how to get it.

Thanks.

This is not a customization question, please keep base Civil3d questions in the main C3D forum. Thanks!

Check your Settings->Drawing Settings->Ambient Settings->Coordinate precision and/or

The precision fro the label style you are using to label with (you don't say anything about how/what you are looking at for the precision you are seeing).

After rereading the subject line I saw you mentioned .NET...so now I really don't know what you are doing to see what you are seeing. Please be more descriptive with what you are doing. If you have some code, give us a bit of what you are using to get these results....

My edit and your reply crossed paths. Show some code that is giving these results.

Here is the sample code snippet.

Pt_obj.Northing.ToString();
This gets me Northing but there is not precision.
it only gets 234234 not 13121.234

You need to format your string. This will format the string to 4 decimal places:

Pt_obj.Northing.ToString("F4");

To use the drawing settings for the precision, get that setting and set the string accordingly.

Jeff,

Another quick question. when I get a value using code. How do I get it in Meters and millimeters.
Example when I get dia of a civil3D pipe I get it in meters, how do I get it in millimeters instead of in meters.

Multiply your value by 1000. One thing to remember, Civil3D most always works with either Meters or Feet, depending on whether you have a Metric or Imperial drawing.
