another...Are PVI's of superimposed profile derived from other object?

For a superimposed profile, how do I tell the name of the alignment and profile being superimposed?
Does the lack of a property or method to get this info (assuming i did not just miss it) imply the PVI's are only a
snapshot of the other profile, not dynamic? I guess not, so is there a way to get parent info on a superimposed
profile?
thx

Looks like you found something else not exposed to us in the API, James.

While you can determine whether a profile IS a superimposed profile (Type =
3), it looks like nothing about the source profile is provided.

wow, during my first week using the API too.
I will say I have been very happy with the API so far. Especially the fact that I can create profiles of any name, and
not have to add a dummy PVI like in LDT.
I still have not touched corridors and also surface API's, should be fun. Then lets see how many posts I can do in a
day 🙂

spoke too soon maybe, seems you can create a profile with no PVI's, but cannot delete all PVI's from a profile, must
keep 2 it seems...I'll try some more.

Superimposed profiles are dynamic. I have mine automatically named based on the profile they are superimposed from. In toolspace go to settings tab and right click on "Profile" edit feature settings - default name format - superimposed profile name template - and modify to pull parent name into superimposed's automatic name scheme. I have done the same thing for my profile default to pull form the parent alignment name, then I modify if necessary, but his way they get their default names from the parents they are associated with. Unfortunately labeling a superimposed profile fully still seems to be very far from possible.
