Why railing other fixed post disappears when near first or last fixed post?

I am using a railing style to represent something other than a railing.

I have a railing style with "First" and "Last" posts specified.

I then add "Other Fixed Posts" inbetween.

If I move (using post grip) a "Other Fixed Post" within 8" of the "First" or "Last", but still between the 2, the "Other" post disappears, not even a grip for it remains.

This is also true even for "Other" post to "Other" post, if you try to move one to 8" or less from the other then one of the posts disappears.

Is there a setting that is not allowing me to place posts 8" or less apart?

Six years later, nobody bothered to answer you and this is still an issue. It is about time that railing posts appear where we tell the software to place them.
