Workspace issues

I am currently using AutoCAD Architecture 2013, I set up a custom workspace last year when we started using 2013 in our office.

I set it up as my default workspace so other than clicking the Home Workspace button once ACA was loaded it has worked fine until a few weeks ago.

I started working on someone else's drawing with multiple layout tabs which meant I had to move the floating Command line, once I had done this I resaved my workspace.

Now every time I open ACA & click on the Home Workspace button my Docked Palettes are arranged differently from the way I saved them.

This is getting annoying as everything I have tried so far has not made a difference.

I have tried saving it multiple times, renaming it, all of the Workspace setting options & even resaving my customized profile.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for your post.  In this case it looks like the workspace is not saving up manipulation within the session of AutoCAD Architecture 2013.  What can happen is the setting within the profile and CUIx (where workspace data is linked) can become unchecked.  First thing I would suggest is verifying that under WSSETTINGS the check box is set for all changes made to workspace to save.  I have made a quick video below illustrating this setting along with the setting/location in your CUIx.  Please let us know if this helped.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your response. We have now upgraded to 2014 but I still seem to be having some issues with the workspace settings.

In 2014 I have created my workspace again & then saved my 2014 profile but I still have a couple of docked pallets that do not want to stay in the position that I have saved them in. I have tried both options in the WSSETTINGS but it makes no difference.

WSSAVE command is used to save any on screen changes you make to a workspace that you want to preserve. Saving your profile is a complete waste of time for this task.
Try it: do not rely on any 'automatic' save setting, run it after you make a workspace change.
True for AutoCAD/ACA 2014 and lower, all the way back to when workspaces were first introduced.

It has been a while now but i am still haveing this issue.

The reason that i was saving the profile after making the changes to the WSSETTINGS was because this is what we were instructed to do by our seller/training people.

I have noticed that when i save the workspace i do get amessage saying "No canvas exists. Please click new canvas."

Any ideas?
